Only lime when required

Field information tells you when lime is required; the standard yield-improvement cycle calls for liming periodically rather than every season. Applying lime when it is not required adds cost and work without a benefit.

Application

Use a spreader that supports lime, fill it with lime and cover the full field evenly before the crop is established. Afterwards continue with soil preparation/planting as required.

Procedure

1. Check the field info/map for “Needs lime”.
2. Use a spreader that explicitly accepts lime.
3. Fill with lime rather than fertiliser.
4. Spread over the entire required area with overlapping coverage.
5. Recheck field info, then proceed to soil preparation/planting.
