Seeder

Sows cereal and other seeder-compatible crops.

What it is used for

Sows cereal and other seeder-compatible crops.

How to operate it

Fill with seed, select the crop, unfold/lower/activate the machine, and cover the field with even overlap. Some seeders can cultivate or fertilise in the same pass.

Selection and setup

Check the in-game shop for power requirement, working width, capacity, supported fill types, hitch/header compatibility and optional configurations before purchase or leasing.

Operating procedure

Before starting, confirm the machine is compatible with the crop/material and that the power unit meets the shop requirement. Attach or enter the machine, unfold/prepare it, position at the start of the work area, lower/activate the working components where applicable, then work consistent passes at the machine’s rated working speed. Monitor fill level, material type and missed strips. Stop/lift the working parts before tight headland turns, reposition, then resume.

Before you buy or lease

Check working width, working speed, power requirement, capacity, supported fill/crop types, hitch/header compatibility, wheel/tyre options and whether the tool combines another field operation. Lease highly specialised equipment when it will only be used for a small acreage.

Compatibility & attachments

This shows what the equipment connects to, which attachment families work with it, and what each combination is used for. For a specific model, the in-game shop Combinations panel is the final compatibility check.

Compatible connection / attachmentUsed forImportant notes
Tractor rear 3-point / drawbarSow cereal and other crops supported by the selected seeder.Meet power requirement and load seed; some models also accept fertiliser.
Power harrow combinationSome mounted seeders attach to a matching power harrow for one-pass cultivation and seeding.Only use pairings shown as a shop combination.

Procedure

  1. Check that the seeder supports the crop you intend to sow and whether it offers direct drilling.
  2. Fill the seed tank and any optional fertiliser tank, then select the intended crop.
  3. If the seeder is not a direct drill, prepare the seedbed first with the appropriate soil-working tool.
  4. Unfold, lower and activate the seeder at a straight field edge and sow parallel passes with a small overlap.
  5. Watch the seed/fertiliser level and refill before either tank runs empty.
  6. After sowing, use a field roller promptly if you want the optional rolling bonus.

Alternative options

Alternative 1
Direct-drill seeder: skips separate cultivation when conditions permit.
Alternative 2
Seeder with fertiliser: combines sowing and first nutrient pass.

Practical tips

  • Confirm the crop is supported before filling/starting.
  • Operate at the tool’s rated working speed and allow space at headlands for clean turns.
