Overview
Corn has two major routes: harvest ripe grain, or chop it earlier into chaff for silage.
Uses after harvest
Grain can be sold/fed/processed; chaff can be fermented into silage.
Procedure
- Check lime/ploughing state, then prepare the field.
- Fill a planter, select corn and plant during the seasonal window.
- Roll/fertilise/control weeds using the linked field-care procedures.
- Choose the end product before harvest: grain or chaff.
- For grain, use a combine with corn header and unload into a trailer.
- For chaff/silage, use a forage harvester with the appropriate corn header and run a trailer alongside continuously.
